The complainant referred to her complaint about Manchester United FC Scotch Whisky and added that:
“It goes without saying that to link football and a lager named Red Tribe will promote the culture of lager louts and is flying in the face of the Football Association’s attempts to try and eradicate such hooliganism.”

Decision
The Club’s representative’s responded and drew attention to the response on Manchester United FC Scotch Whisky which is relevant to the Red Tribe complaint. The Panel considered the possible link between the use of the name Tribe (and Red Tribe) and hooliganism.
The Panel referred to external advice and concluded that it was unlikely that the term ‘tribe’ would condone, encourage or cause hooliganism. The Panel found no evidence that the term ‘tribe’ and football hooliganism were associated.
