“This report is consistent with what we already know – if you follow national drinking guidelines your relative risk of developing certain cancers such as kidney, stomach and liver remains very low.
“Drinking within guidelines was just one of many recommendations by the World Cancer Research Fund – it advised nine other habits that should be examined to minimise risk. Yet again, we see alcohol and bacon being cherry-picked as headline clickbait rather than reflecting the full lifestyle advice.”
